PACKING TO TRAVEL When packing for Costa Rica remember that when traveling in the tropics the weather is warm and temperate, but when traveling in the mountains it can get quite chilly, so pack accordingly. Make sure to bring good waterproof sunscreen (minimum SPF 25) and you may want a hat to keep the sun off your face. If you plan on spending time in the mountains, you may also want to pack long pants and a sweater as even in summer, it can get cool in the evening.
